"Sam's my guy! Not only do I see a lot of myself in him, and the torture of the redundant routine of dealing with other people's waste daily, but his fat and ugly face reminds me greatly of myself. While I'm not even half as smart as Sam, he makes me aspire to be a better person. Or, at least, find a single mother desperate for anybody and willing to settle. I sure hope the maesters don't do something bad to him for taking the books and running."

"Samwell Tarly is a great character for sure. The development of the character has been truly remarkable. When he's introduced, you kind of expect him to be sort of comedy relief due to his appearance and his meek personality. You don't really anticipate him being so intelligent or helpful or to become such an integral character. I could definitely see him competing in the running for "best character"."

"My buddy and I were arguing about who was the best character from the show Game of Thrones. His choice was Samwell Tarly. I didn't know much about him, but I checked out his wiki page. I learned all about his character and impact on the show. However, I don't agree that he is the best character and think that there are far better options."
