"Notebooks have not been my favorite technology in terms of computers, but this Acer is a great deal. I owned an Acer in the past and had no issues with it. The 1TB hard drive is definitly a plus. Windows 10 now isn't a free ugrade anymore so having it installed at purchase time is a good bonus."

"I couldn't find a better deal than this for a laptop. It's pretty much a steal at the price. It only has 4GB of RAM so you'll likely want to add at least another 4GB, which I did. It will make it much faster and better at handling more work. "

"I've been in the market for a new laptop for about a month or so now and decided to pull the trigger and went with the Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM from Acer. Now, I've had Acer laptops in the past and they've always been quite good and this one appears to be no different after some heavy initial usage. My only issue with it was the fact that it didn't come with a solid state drive (SSD). Fortunately, this laptop has the m.2 slot which will allow me to easily install a SSD in the next couple weeks. Overall, it is a great laptop for the price and will suit you well in a variety of computing scenarios."

"I like that this notebook. It's fast and has a bigger hard drive than some tablets. It sucks when you see TB in hard drive descriptions for some tablets only to find that the processors are extremely slow, or tablets with fast processors but extremely small hard drives."

"I work as a part-time website programmer for an IT company and based on my experience, I am recommending Acer Aspire to web designers as one of the best programming laptops mainly because of its battery life and processor. I am able to work with Visual Studio with this laptop. "

"The Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM 15.6-Inch FHD Notebook is another 15" offering with 7th Generation Intel Core i3-7100U Processor (2.4GHz, 3MB L3 cache) 15.6" Full HD Widescreen ComfyView LED-backlit Display supporting Acer ColorBlast technology 4GB DDR4 Memory, 1TB 5400RPM HDD, and Windows 10 Home. It has up to 12-hours Battery Life which is pretty good for a 15" display. The basic configuration comes in at about $360 but several upgrade options are available. I'd recommend upgrading the processor to at least an i5 the selecting a SSD if possible. This is a budget unit and there is no doubt about that. Personally I don't think it has enough processing power to do everything I expect from a laptop but casual users may find this offering to be all they need. Definitely not a power user's laptop! "

"This notebook is light and fast. Anyone who wants to use it for computer programming is smart to buy it. The i3 processor combo with 8gb of ram is more than enough to write code. While it doesn't have an SSD the mechanical hard drive that it boasts will last for a very very long time. While its hard drive is somewhat small, the wifi connectivity of the laptop allows you to do all of your work in the cloud (And makes it so that you don't have to worry about losing your work to a hard drive failure). "Not the best choice for programmers but rather for every day users. Yes, you can add great graphics cards and better memory and processing speeds, but it makes more sense to spend more to get those essential programming elements all in one housing from the get go. Otherwise, the Acer Aspire E15 has good graphics, a below average RAM of 4GB, and the very decent intel core i3 processor."

"This laptop does not perform very well. Integrated graphics means that any visually demanding games won't run very well. The processor isn't very powerful either. Compiling code takes forever on this machine. I cannot be as productive as I need to be with this laptop. It's probably a fine computer if you just need something to browse the internet or write papers."

"I've never had nor used a computer that cost more than $500 but, out of all the computers I have used, this is by far my favorite. Definitely worth the money. One can use it for internet browsing and some Excel documents, email and the like. I would definitely suggest this laptop for every-day users- probably not fast enough for serious gaming."

This laptop is perfect for most users, except programmers and gamers. The vast majority of regular users will love this one and it will meet their needs at a price that is better than those of less machines."

"I came into this laptop for the same reason most of you probably are; my budget is "as cheap as I can make it" while still having a functional Windows operating system (not a chromebook) for school related reasons. 350 dollars will buy you a keyboard with a number pad, a full 1080p display, 3 usbs, an hdmi output, and so on. The charging unit is L shaped which for the uninitiated, is a really good thing. Charging cords that are straight will stick straight out of your laptop which make them incredibly easy to catch onto a surface or bump with your hand which can damage the laptop or the cord, whereas L shaped chargers curve in to help prevent accidental tugs. It seems like a silly thing to talk about but you'd be surprised, especially with lower-end laptops, how problematic that can be when it isn't L shaped (for that reason, I recommend staying away from Dell Inspirons and any other laptop like that). "Let me paint a picture:My background is in purchasing, I am a research nerd. I used to spend in excess of 50 million a year for the largest retailer of its kind in my industry, I am obsessive when comparing details and am even more obsessed with getting every last ounce of value for my money. I am not the most tech savvy person you will ever meet, but I believe I am above average, and I also believe I am a realistic person with regards to my expectations. This is a fantastic laptop for the majority of people, I do not intend to do heavy gaming or run heavy/complex programs. This laptop is like the F-150 of laptops (sorry Chevy fans) , yes some people need an F-250 or even F-350 for towing/hauling, but for most people an F-150 is all they will ever need."

Touch pad is not very responsive so things go really slow. Bad hardware. It is not even 12 hour battery life as advertised. It could only last for 3-4 hours."

"The Acer Aspire E line has always been a good economical series. I used to have an old netbook from Acer and that little guy is still going strong. Ever since that, I've trusted Acer brand laptops. The Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM is a very economically friendly choice for a starter laptop. The 15 inch display is high def and looks very good. I like the sleek finish with the touch of brushed aluminum. It gives it a very classy touch. The optical USB drive is terrific too and I think even with the Intel Core i3 processor it does an admiral job. The internal hdd could use a bolster but replacing it shouldn't be too much of an issue. For the price that you can get this at, it's a solid laptop."

I did make a couple small upgrades to it right away to get it in quality shape. I added 8gb of RAM and a 256gb M-2 drive for the operating system. This made it a very snappy little unit. The i3 is a very solid processor as long as you don't get carried away with a lot of multi tasking. It fits the topic pretty nicely."

"Normally I don't think of Acer first when it comes to computers for my own personal needs, but when I saw the specs and the price for this notebook I just had to give it the benefit of the doubt and look over it. It had almost everything I could possibly need in general, but fit all the requirements that I was looking for in a notebook for my college classes perfectly. I could live without a bluray drive or even grab an external one at some point so it really wasn't that big of deal. This laptop is great for basic gaming even being able to run most (but not all) my favorite games on the highest setting, and for those that I can't it's still pretty high quality & fast. Barely notice any differences. It runs smoothly. Honestly, after using this notebook I was pretty impressed. I'll definitely be keeping Acer in mind for any future computer needs. Great notebook for a great value."

That said, I think this computer is great for anyone because it is easy to use and easy to upgrade, so if you are a student who has to store a lot of data for some kind of project, it will be easy to upgrade the memory in this computer, and if you find that it is sluggish, upgrading the ram is a breeze as well even for non-nerds. This computer would be good for a teenager doing their homework or a college student writing a term paper. I wouldn't recommend it for doing hardcore programming. Maybe light web developing, but even then if you had a long PHP file that you'd written, the computer may be slow to refresh."

I typically don't write reviews but I wanted to give Acer some serious props here. The machine is a beauty for what it conveys: simplicity. Everything is simple and straightforward to use. Upgrading memory was a cinch and took me less than 10 minutes (opened it up and plugged in the new RAM). I appreciate that as a coder. I don't want anything fancy for my dedicated coding machine- I just want to work. Get this laptop, you won't be disappointed!"
