What the community says about Dell Inspiron i5547-15001sLV
- "I've been needing a new gaming laptop to play some of the newer games coming out so I decided to pick this up. Everything seems to run fine except the harddrive, it's slow. I found this odd and decided to check the specs again, it's 5400 rpms, this is far below standard. I plan to replace it just to get things loading a bit quicker, overall though it's a good laptop that does play the games I want."
- "I've had this computer for a little over a year. It does really well for basic functions (creating word documents, surfing the web) but if you're looking for a computer to play games on I would suggest looking elsewhere. The graphics are good enough to watch movies if you choose to. The battery life is a bit less than what the specs quote-- I'm not sure if this is just my computer, or if I use too many programs while it's not plugged in and it uses a lot of battery life. Either way, I average around 5 hours (not the advertised 7+). I like the larger screen size, and the touch screen. I would recommend it if you're looking for a computer for school or just surfing the web. However, I would definitely NOT suggest it being used primarily as a gaming computer. I'm not a hardcore computer gamer, but I attempted to play a game that a friend recommended to me. I managed to get everything loaded onto the computer and then-- it crashed. Got everything set up again, played for 5 minutes-- crashed again. The computer met the requirements listed on the game, but I'm guessing it was a RAM problem. "

in What are the best laptops"This laptop has a decent processor and HDD space, it is a 4th Gen i7 so it doesn't have the speed that a 5th/6th/7th Gen would, but for general usage that should not be a problem. While it is not the "best laptop" it is a decent one provided that the user doesn't require a newer processor, more ram, etc. For general school usage it is fine, once you need higher end graphics, more ram, or a faster HDD because of gaming, graphics design, etc... this isn't the best choice; that being said, it is fine if you don't need those things."

in What are the best budget laptops"Dell Inspiron i5547-15001sLV is a phenomenal unit. I have found this to be a great laptop. The processing power, storage and speed are perfect for anyone. The touch screen provides lots of flexibility and options. I have found this to be a perfect student laptop to last several years at a good price."
