"I've never really been into wearables and fitbit is really taking it to the next extreme with alba, this thing is more ridiculous that my cellphone and kids computers"

"The features of the Fitbit Alta are great, and it's helped me to increase my activity levels. However, be sure that you order a spare band right away, because my original one failed within a month. Luckily I didn't lose it, but I expected more for my wristband durability."

"The Fitbit Alta is the best budget smartwatch, in my experience. I really enjoy all the different tracking features and I didn't need anything too fancy. I do enjoy the fact that I can personalize the Fitbit to suit my needs. I wound up using the alarms more than I thought I might. Perhaps the best aspect is the fact that owning it helps me to maintain consistency and ensures that I work out regularly. It's a must-have at this point..."

I haven't used all of the functions yet, but I definitely like how it sends text notifications of my progress and goals. It's helping me be more motivated to get moving. I also like the comfortable band on it. "

"I got this for my fiance on her birthday, she loves using it. It's very low profile, sleek and easy to use once you set it up. She mostly likes to use it for keeping track of her fitness but has also become more aware of her sleep patterns. I think it's really cool and a great replacement for a watch. It links up to your phone which is pretty cool as you can get messages and calls to go to the Fitbit. I definitely recommend this for someone who wants something simple and sleek and terms of a fitness tracker."

"Fitbit is considered one of the biggest names in this product class, and this particular smartwatch is a fairly popular choice. It's a bit smaller than a lot of the older models, which most people will probably appreciate. This might be my recommendation to this particular question, though the cheaper Flex model might possibly be a better choice. This is a solid choice if you've never bought any product like this, though; it really depends on how price sensitive you are."

"Fitbit is one of the very best bands for fitness trackers. You can't really go wrong with a fitness device. It will track your workouts, giving you credit for activity minutes, as well as your steps. It is also water resistant so you don't have to take it off in the shower (but please note! It is not waterproof!) It does track your sleep, but it does not have a heartrate monitor. The tradeoff for this is its slim design. Honestly, I love Fitbit as a monitor and have never been disappointed with their products. One of the very best companies in this category. "
  • Angela Fuller

"While this product is water resistant it isn't completely water proof which is a bit disappointing. Overall, it does not seem to be the best product if you want your product to be fully water proof but it should work well if the product gets water on it through rain or other means."

"The Fitbit Alta is a beautiful and functional hybrid of a fitness tracker and a smartwatch. I love the notifications that can be activated from my phone. I do prefer a fitness tracker that clips to waist though as far as step accuracy is concerned."

"The Fitbit Atla is so similar to the Samsung Gear Fit that I decided to give it a try. I like it for everything it has provided me but at the same price as the Samsung Gear Fit I can't really say I'm crazy about it. I think the band is too bland and generic. I certainly prefer the band on the Samsung Gear Fit more. It's nice to have other options out there but I'm going to have to return my Fitbit Alta. I just can't justify myself having this for my exercise needs when there are better options out there."

"This is a pretty decent fitness tracker. It has all the basic features you'd expect from a Fitbit, and it's compact and stylish. My only issue is that the step count accuracy isn't very good. It's not off to an extreme, but it's still off quite a bit at times."

"Well worth the money. And I was very reticent to pay that amount to start with. I used much less expensive fitness trackers in the past but my friend convinced me to get the Fitbit Alta and I must say I'm really glad I listened to her. It's really easy to set up and you can see that it's been well designed and built to last. I never really liked the way the other ones worked but this one has become a part of me. I honestly don't feel complete when I don't wear it. I feel it's helps me with my fitness goals in many ways, big and small, and that it does the job so well because of the top notch work the designers invested in it."

"The Fitbit Alta pedometer is one of the best wearable device on the market because it is waterproof, light weight and it can be easily worn on consumers wrist during their workout. One reason consumers love this device is because it is very flexible, it syncs to most electronic , fitness devices , apps and this device is mad with durable materials."

"The Fitbit Alta is a good activity tracking device, but it's not quite as good as just a dedicated smartwatch. The smartwatch functionalities that it does promise all work fine, but the device simply does not specialize in these functions as much as other devices might. You just have to consider your priorities in terms of what you value in the device - also make sure you buy the correct size for your wrist. "

"Fitbit is the premier name in the fitness tracker game, and this is one of their better models. It's not a smartwatch persay, but it accomplishes many of the same things that smartwatches can. If you are determined to have a smartwatch, this won't fit the bill, but if you're open, this is a great alternative."

While it's a cool idea, I found the interface clunky, the stats confusing, and I'm CERTAIN it's been telling me I'm doing less than I really am. Yesterday I slept 6 hours and ran 5 miles, and I SWEAR it's trying to tell me I slept 10 hours and ran 2 miles. Sorry, but I don't need a lying, guilt trip on my wrist! Pretty design, though."

It's a great fitness tracker that helps me track all my steps that I do for my walking at the park each day. It also tracks my diet and calories burned. It's a very helpful and easy-to-use device that I recommend to anyone trying to lose weight and get fit. Love it!"

"I am a pretty active person and I love keeping track of my fitness levels so I can gauge how much daily activity I do and what I can do to improve it. Last year for Mother's Day I received a Fitbit Flex and I was so excited! I got it set up and loved seeing how many steps I actually take a day. The only thing is, the Flex doesn't tell you exactly how many steps you take on the device itself so you have to look at the app or on your computer. Personally, my excitement over the Flex slid downwards because I didn't feel motivated enough by it and I had syncing problems with it so I decided recently to look into other options and came upon the brand-new Fitbit Alta! This time I am really, truly excited over it because it has a slim, classy design yet it is more like a smartwatch so it can tell you a lot of information without even looking at an app. I included a picture of the Alta and Flex (my Alta is black and the Flex is pink)."

Syncing to computers requires Internet connection and USB port. Syncing to mobile devices requires Bluetooth and Internet connection. Syncing range: 20 feet Water Resistance: Alta is sweat, rain, splash proof. You can wear Alta in the shower, but we recommend rinsing and drying it afterwards because it's best for your skin if the band stays clean and dry. Battery life: lasts up to 5 days. Radio transceiver: Bluetooth 4.0 We recommend charging your device every few days to ensure you are always tracking. Charge time: One to two hours"

I spent a LOT of time researching which Fitbit I wanted to upgrade my Fitbit Flex from. I'm not 'techy' but I love that it's SO easy to set up. It shows the time/texts/calls/steps/battery level/miles/DAY & Date. I DID have the Fitbix Flex set up before, so maybe that's why it's easier. "I love how the Alta looks, but it's limited by the size. You'd think if they can show the time, they can also display heart rate, or at least allow you to switch between different screens. That said, like other Fitbit products I've tried, this works great. Syncing is wireless, and it's easy to just log into the app or online to check your stats. "

"I don't really keep up with the latest gadgetry. But i recently started working out and i mostly needed something that could track my calories burned. It seems like every thing can tell you how many calories you ate, but few things out on the market tell you how many calories you have burned. It really helps me to know if i need to kick it up and fall back a little. I have been able to target my weight loss by setting a daily amount of calories to burn and i have been able to reach my weight loss goals a lot faster then just tracking calories eaten. I also like all the other features and the fact that it looks like a nice piece of jewelry."
