"Most fitness trackers cannot be used in the water. I wanted to track my calories while I was doing laps. This Garmin Swim Watch really is great, I have had no problems with it while swimming. It also looks like a watch so I can wear it anywhere. The face is large and gives detailed information, I give it a thumbs up"

"THE Garmin Swim Watch is not worth the money that they are asking for i suggest the company go back to the drawing table to work out the kinks especially with the battery and the issue with water getting inside the watch "

"Garmin Swim Watch is a great choice for any amateur or professional swimsuit"

"The Garmin Swim Watch is perfect for professional and recreational swimmers. You can measure the distance of different pools that you're are in, keep track of drills, records, and laps. This is perfect when you're in automatic swim mode and just want to swim careless without worrying about timing yourself."

" I am not a good swimmer by any means. I swim for fitness using a swimmer's snorkel most of the time, and have honed my skills using YouTube as a coach. (That is to say that my form is nowhere near perfect and my speeds are nowhere near competitive). I do not do "proper" turns at the wall. I'm working on learning how to open-turn, but most of the time, I stop and the end, turn around, and then push off. I think I am probably a good example of a non-perfect swimmer using this device. While some reviews stated that you really need good form and proper mechanics for the Garmin Swim to work properly, I haven't found that to be completely true. After swimming with the device 5 hours a week for 9 weeks, here is what I do to make sure it tracks my strokes properly:"

"I like it. Seems like there's not a lot out there for swimmers because everyone is using fitness trackers for something else. I kind of wish the display was a little bit easier to read. I think it's the font that makes it a little unclear but the functions work and of course, it reads differently once you're plugged in and checking your stats."

"The Garmin Swim Watch is a more limited specific fitness tracker. The Moov Now for instance contains a variety of modes including step tracking, boxing and rep-based training, as well as a swimming mode on top of run coaching and sleep monitoring features. "

"Very poor design. I would expect something more from this brand. Just basic features for an inflated price. "

"I can't live without my Garmin Swim Watch, seriously. I have always been jealous of runners and their fitness trackers. Finally with the Swim Watch, I can track my swims and really push myself."

"I think this is a bad solution. The watch records exercise but doesn't work with any cell phone platforms. It also doesn't have a great rating. "

"Good for swimming exercises and related functions. Not what I would recommend for an overall fitness tracker. Still, worth a look if you do a lot of swimming and other water exercises. "

"The Garmin Swim Watch is a nice watch to use while swimming but it seems to be relatively limited when it comes to other exercise monitoring. I think that there are other options that I would rather try than this product."

"To simplify the product description, here is what it does. It continually tracks your heart rate, your steps, stairs climbed, calories burned, active minutes, miles, exercise, and sleep. It seamlessly works with the FitBit app, which can also help you keep track of your calories consumed (works with apps like MyFitnessPal, Weight Watchers, etc), water intake, and weight. You can also set a goal in the app that allows you to set how many hours of the day you want to take 250+ steps each hour, however it does NOT remind you to move to ensure your success with this (See10/19/16 update on cons section). You can also set notifications to come through from your phone to your watch, such as text messages, phone calls, calendar reminders, and control your iPod, iPhone, etc music from it. As of this review, photos and emoji's do not come through on the watch. As of this review, this watch has 4 different face options, the ability to set it to your dominant or non dominant wrist, silent alarms, all day sync with your phone, etc. It also has FitStar workouts built into it."

"This is the best choice for the money if you're looking for a watch to time your laps. It has little nuances that you have to get used to, but after working with it for a few weeks, you'll love it! I'm a novice, but being able to track my times and see my improvements has been amazing for my workouts and progress. It's so cool to watch your times go down and down!"

"I like that this watch has kept track of my laps and assists with my drills. It would help if the watch vibrated as it is hard to hear the beep underwater. Overall the quality is terrible and it falls apart easily. "

"You already know Garmin if you have ever looked at watches at all. This is quality. I didn't think I wanted a dedicated swim watch, even though I swim for exercise several times a week. I thought that my waterproof timer was really good enough for someone like me who isn't a real athlete. But let me tell you, the cost of entry is worth it. This thing has kind of pushed me to the next level where I'm doing things I thought I just wasn't interested in, but now I know how good it feels. Plus a new swim toy!"
