"This was my first build I've ever done. And when I heard it's release I was so happy that the budget people got a huge cut. However, since a year now of its initial release, prices has gone up from 60 to 80 USD. Which is sad but for what its worth, it's really great if you have a very tight budget. I paired it with an RX 470 and it's amazing. It's 90% of a Skylake i3 fo,r what it was at the time, 50% off. If you can find it for cheap, it's amazing."

"I tried a computer with this processor and thought it worked pretty well. It was almost as good as a MacBook."

"Now the problem we are facing is to find the best CPU for gaming and we are not exactly looking for an affordable option. Anything from Intel Pentium G series is a bad solution for this problem. I firmly believe that the solution here should be something more powerful even if it costs extra. For instance, Intel 8th Gen Core i7-8700K Processor or something from that league would be a great option. "

"I'm loving all the VR options out there, and a CPU that can keep up is absolutely necessary. This Intel Pentium Processor G is perfect for gaming--everything I've tried runs like butter with no lag or issues. Amazing price for what you get; all my graphics are crisp and perfect. Having a processor like this really makes the VR experience POP!"

"VR gaming is one of the most difficult thing a computer can do right now. To help keep up with my needs I use a fast Intel Pentium Processor G4560."

"While this processor is an incredible value, there's no way it's the best CPU on the market for gaming. Not even close. I doubt it could even run 4k media or VR games without dropping frames or lagging. If you really want the best consumer CPU without price being an issue, I'd point you to the Intel i7-8700k. Happy gaming!"

"A good processor for everyday use and fairly powerful for its price range, it just isn't a gaming processor. I used it to build a spare media PC, but it's not in my gaming machine and I wouldn't recommend using it for one. "

"I would not recommend the Intel Pentium G for gaming unless you cannot afford something better. Unless you're just going to play Minecraft, in which case you're golden."
  • Walter Howell

"I usually stick with the core series, but this CPU was on par with them. My games had no problem running on this CPU."

"This is one of the newer Intel processors. I wouldn't quite consider this to be the best that Intel has to offer, but depending on your computing needs this processor offers a lot of functionality. I think this could be a great processor for those looking to build gaming setups or consume high quality content. "
