"Everyone was right when they told me to switch over to a MAC and boy, I am glad that I made the switch. I love editing and it's an absolute breeze on this machine. So is working and editing my papers, everything looks so crisp and clean, whoooo! I get so much use out of this sweet laptop because my battery lasts foreverrrrrr."

"This is not a great laptop for computer science students. The screen is too small. When such detail is needed for coding and reading intricate details, I don't think 13.3 inches is appropriate."

"I am writing this on a MacBook Air right now with the exact same specs. I love this laptop, it is extremely light and easy to carry around without feeling heavy. It is extremely thin. I like the backlit keyboard. Be advised it does not have ports, it only has a spot for earphones and charging. If you want to plug something in via USB it is done through the charger. The charger has an attachment that allows many types of ports. This laptop is the best laptop for college. "

"I've been an avid follower of the apple macbook line for years, and the macbook air has not disappointed. I'm a programmer, and it's light and slim enough to be portable, meaning I'm no longer tied to doing my job in my dark basement office. My only complaint is it's a little flimsy."

"This is the least expensive MacBook that you can buy and might be good for the extensive traveler looking to avoid some weight. Design is the same as it ever was which is not necessarily a good thing since there are some improvements that are being made by competitors. But it is a Mac, so it has that going for it."

"Who wants to lug around a heavy, bulky laptop? It's 2018! The MacBook Air is the best ultraportable laptop with a keyboard and trackpad, packed full of features supported by its 1.4 GHz core and 4 GB of memory. Available screen sizes include 13.3 and even 11.6 inch!"

"I meant to buy an ultrabook to program online, but bought a Macbook Air instead. It's a nice computer, but it doesn't have the power that ultrabooks have and slows down during my more intensive coding sessions. "

"Initially I was overwhelmed with the thought of picking out a computer to help me become a programmer. However, after purchasing a MacBook Air I am confident I made the right decision. It's simple to use and I've learned so much in my short time developing code on this laptop. "

"it is a very good answer to a poorly asked question. A laptop can't really have 512 GB of RAM. That being said, the intent was probably for 512 GB of storage, and this laptop has 128 GB. It is also not a mac book pro, it is a mac book air."

"If i am not mistaken this is the latest MacBook Air. Yes the MacBook Pro is much better but i still think this is worth the buy with its nice key specs from having 8GB Ram, 256GB SSD and the battery which last up to 10 hrs. So i will def consider this one of the best laptops in India that you must buy. "

"I was a bit reticent to make the switch from Windows to Mac having had no experience with the latter, but I am so glad that I did. This is definitely the best computer that I have had the pleasure of purchasing. It's got everything I possibly could have wanted in a laptop and then some. It is a powerful, high speed, wonderfully response machine that barely ever leaves my side these days! I spend a lot of time on my computer any given day, so reliability and functionality are definitely important to me, and this laptop is without a doubt a top quality machine that I am sure will last me for many years to come."

"The MacBook Air is a web developers best friend. I would recommend this laptop to anyone who needs full computing power in a format that is easy to carry around. The computer is fast and strong, even with the slightly older chip. The best part is the long battery life and ease of portability. You can code anywhere, anytime…aren’t you lucky?!"

"My mom bought me my MacBook Air at last year's Best Buy Black Friday deals. And i have a feeling that this year this will also be on sale. My mom told me that i should buy this on their website for my sister instead rather than go on the store as it is so chaotic when she bought this for me. XD"

"I really enjoy my Macbook Air. It is lightweight, fast enough for pretty much anything I need it for, and a champion when it comes to battery life. I can take it with me when I go to a coffee shop or to business meetings without worrying about the need to plug in or its weight. "

"I have a MacBook Air, and it's simply the best computer I've owned for design. I used to use image manipulation and design apps all the time when I was younger, and a MacBook Air has quick, pinpoint accuracy to make slight alterations when it matters. My brother also has a MacBook Air and he says it's the best too, and he has a job doing website and image design. His company uses MacBook Airs exclusively."

"I finally broke bad and decided to get one of these after my girlfriend convinced me it would improve my productivity and make it easier to get my work done. So far it feels just like working with my old laptop, except that I have to keep downloading new extensions for every new program I try. The verdict's still out whether it was worth the cost."

"With a 13.3-inch screen, this is a very small laptop. Any programmer or coder is going to be hunched over and squinting at their work using this computer. The i5 processor was adequate a couple years ago, but will most likely lag with today's more complex coding needs. For $873 - which is less than $1K - you only get 128 GB of hard drive. This probably is not enough space for programming. All in all, this laptop might have been the "best laptop for coding and programming under 1000 US dollars" a couple years ago, but it would be a headache to use it for this purpose today."

"My last laptop gave out on me, so last month I was on the lookout for a replacement. I code a lot, so fast code compilation was an absolute necessity. The laptop needed to be speedy enough to deal with my that, plus the running of multiple tabs and a program or two like Photoshop at the same time. This does a decent job, but it's not much different from my last laptop, which was a Dell. I purchased this thinking it would outperform my last one, but I just can't see a significant difference, and couldn't ever justify spending this much for a laptop that's priced to perform three times better than it actually does. I can't recommend this, unless you're an Apple fanatic."

"Apple is my favorite technology company and I am always willing to try their products before anything else. When i purchased the MacBook Air I was worried how something so light could get me the power and speed I needed while designing. After using this laptop for less than on hour I already knew it was the perfect purchase, and nearly 11 hours later (with my battery still having some charge!) i was completely hooked! "

"While the Macbook Air has nowhere near the best screen around I still use mine everyday at work. It's portable and straight to the point, it does exactly what I need it to do and doesn't require me anything more to do. Plus the keyboard works shockingly well considering the short travel. "

"A Macbook Air isn't best for gamers. It's only got a 1.4GHz processor and it's kind of old honestly. It's still good for the office, but for heavy editing it's not the right way to go."
  • Daniel Rios

"The best aside from the pro models, but they really serve a different purpose. The lightest, quickest, coolst mac around. The best part really though is that the battery lasts forever. Like seriously I can be on it for 3 days and still have a charge. A great, great mac."
