What the community says about Samsung Gear 360
- "This isn't really a CCTV camera. It is more of a camera to use with your smartphone to help capture 360 degree pictures when you travel, not as a security camera. Although the product is great to use with your smartphone, it's not really helpful as a CCTV camera."
- "It's not the Rift but it's powered by Occulus, and if you already own the phone, getting this device is a cheap way to enter the realm of VR. I wanted to use it while traveling, but combine this with a car ride is a sure way to make yourself sick. If you want to experience VR while stationary, though, it's fun. There are lots of apps, unique games, and experiences, and the prices aren't bad. Think $5-20 for most games, with some free content and some cheaper content."

in What are the best action cameras"I was very pleased with the quality of the camera - its easy to handle, takes very cool pictures and video (in fisheye, which can be viewed with the VR lens) and was very simple to set up. However, I don't think this camera is an "action cam." It is not very stabilized when filming video, especially while moving and its somewhat delicate. I have also noticed it scratches quite easily, almost right out of the box, which has been a topic of complaint among other customers, too. So its definitely not the camera I would want attached to my ski pole for an afternoon. But, if you're just looking for some great photos and a cool, customized VR experience, this camera is really nice. ""The picture quality in the Samsung Gear 360 is excellent. I think the clarity was as good if not better than anything I've seen currently on the market. I also really like that it is water resistant. I highly recommend this camera.""I've thoroughly enjoyed this camera so far. If you're looking for a less expensive alternative to a GoPro, this is a great choice. Now, I will say that your experience will be a lot better if you have a newer Samsung Galaxy phone to pair with it. It can still be used with a different/older brand but it won't be quite as seem-less. I mainly use this to document my hiking trips and the videos are just breathtakingly beautiful. It's so vivid that I feel like I'm reliving every moment over again. I haven't used the live feed option yet, I'll have to give that a shot. "
- "Camera works great and is so easy to take with me to different places. It looks like a home security camera, but it's not bulky and packs up quickly. There is a learning curve here to synch it up with your devices and people not using samsung phones might not enjoy this camera as much as others."
