What the community says about Deadlight
- "Deadlight is an action adventure title from an indie developer set in the zombie apocalypse. There are many old call backs to 2D sidescrollers and other old school games mixed in the game play so it stays fresh for the player.""I love playformer games a bunch, and I am always on the lookout for new and interesting titles. Deadlight is actually a very creative, and interesting platformer."
- "This game was not my fave. I found the gameplay to be a little confusing and tougher than I like. I know some friends of mine that would really enjoy this but it's not for everyone. If you're into exploration gaming then give it a shot. You may or may not like it.""Rarely get to see a zombie-themed sidescrolling game, but Deadlight was executed nicely. Ambient sounds, and the surroundings that would most certainly put you on edge. It's a 10/10 must-play for every fan of the undead genre""I wanted a 2d exploration game. This game isn't 100% 2d, but its not full 3d, either. Its fun, has great ratings, and looks amazing on my PC. I recommend for any exploration game lover.""Deadlight isn't really too fun. The game and storyline is pretty generic and the game feels more like a money grab than a money maker.""This is a 2d action game set in an atmospheric style apocalypse. It's only $15 so not a huge investment."
- "Deadlight is a surprisingly competent game from Microsoft. It's not unheard of (see the awesomeness of Age of Empires) but still a pleasant thing. At almost 7 years old now, the graphics aren't as awe inspiring as newer games, but I find myself still getting lost in the apocalypse within. It's dark and really scary. My neck skin crawls as I search for the lights after playing Deadlight."
- "If you like zombies and indie games then this one is worth a shot. It has good graphics and great overall ratings. It's not expensive so to me it is worth the money. I've definitely played worse games for more money. It also has full controller support which is helpful."

in What are the best indie games"Deadlight is rather atmospheric and has rather nice graphics as well. It is a little different than the average zombie-related game in that it has heavy platforming elements. This genre typing can mean that the game can feel a little limited in terms of gameplay, but it's clearly an intentional choice and a very core part of the game, so it kind of is what it is. Another specific issue is that the controls can be a little frustrating at times. Overall, it looks very good for an indie game and is fairly creative in terms of the genre in which it chooses to use to tell its story.""You'll instantly be reminded of the game, Limbo when you start playing this game. The dark, atmospheric setting and the silhouetted protagonist stars in this 2D puzzle platform, this time, with zombies."
