"I didn't like this movie. The plot doesn't really appeal to me and it lacked the action necessary to keep me engaged. I love foreign movies as a general genre, but this isn't something I'd rewatch. The acting is fine and the quality of the movie (cinematography) is also alright. But as far as appealing to me like a movie should, it just doesn't."

"My boyfriend is Korean and he is always putting on Korean movies for us to watch. A Bittersweet Life is one of the best. While there is not a lot of action, when there is action it is spellbinding. The plot and the cinematography is incredible. It is definitely a thrilling adventure with violence and crime."

"I felt that this was a good, above‐average recommended solution, and a top of the line pick. This particular film is somewhat campy and corny, but has received well above average audience and reviewer ratings for Korean action-adventure films."

"If someone will ask me for a Korean gangster film, this is the first one that I will recommend. The main character's acting here is good that he can even portray the silent scenes in this movie. "

"Honestly, I just watched this because of my crush Shin Min Ah. Two versions were released but I like the director's cut better. "
