What the community says about A Clockwork Orange
- "This is one of the best Stanley Kubrick movies and also one of the best dystopias ever depicted in film. It's based on the book by Anthony Burgess and like the book its pretty disturbing. But not without reason. The movie digs deep into crime, punishment, and society. I won't say more for fear of giving something away. Just see it."

in What are the best movies"A Clockwork Orange is a true classic. Violent, graphic, shocking, and even more thought-provoking, this is a fantastic adaptation of a fantastic book. Malcolm McDowell is perfect in the protagonist's role, and skillfully makes the audience feel every emotion towards him, from revulsion to deep sympathy--just as the film requires. This might not be Kubrick's best but it's still a classic and a true must-see film."

- "A weird film for me but I discovered that this is a book. I'll try to read the novel this weekend and so far, the film is good. ;)"
- "This movie is a classic that is worth revisiting. It's not my favorite Kubrick movie, but it is definitely a masterpiece of a study of the darker side of society. As usual for Kubrick, the scenes are almost dreamlike and flow from one disturbing element to another. "
- "Weird is not the best word to desciribe this movie. It's very violent, and not at all uplifting. I don't know about you, but I'm not all that interested in understanding violent thugs, or bringing myself down from watching this depressing stuff. And it turns out, it's based on a book, but the screenwriter didn't have the last chapter of the book! Sad."
