"If you've never read The Hobbit by Tolkien, you'll love this movie. It has great storytelling, characters, and amazing world building. It's a long movie and therefore doesn't feel rushed like some book to film adaptations. If you're a lover of Tolkien's book you may find a lot unrecognizable. This is not a movie that follows the book like a script, it's quite different. In my opinion, that doesn't make it a bad thing, but if you are a lover of the book you should at least know it's not exactly the same before watching this fun and entertaining movie."

"Though I don't care for the Peter Jackson Hobbit trilogy as a whole, I think the first film definitely deserves its spot here because it captures the excitement of embarking on a journey. I always like rewatching the party at Bilbo's place and Bilbo running out of his home to go on an adventure! "

"I hate everything about the Lord of the Rings movies. The Hobbit seems to take some of the criticisms of those movies into account but still utterly fails at not being boring."

"The Hobbit movies weren't that great but I still maintain that Martin Freeman and Ian Mckellen are perfect casting as Bilbo and Gandalf!"
