"Hairspray the original was much better than the remake. For one, it was much closer to the 60's and there's just something about it that is more authentic than the later version. If you've never seen a "Hairspray" movie, this one is the better version. This version has Sonny Bono and Jerry Stiller, both gone now. Bear in mind that Hairspray is a musical which is an acquired taste, but having said that, this is a very good movie."

"OMG, Hairspray is one of my guilty pleasures. It's funny and entertaining despite the convoluted plot. It also showed body positivity 'coz Tracy is proud of herself. I also loved Divine's performance, we'll miss you."
