"The argument can be made that "Modern Times" is the best Charlie Chaplin movie ever - created just during the switch from silent movies to "talkies", the movie almost makes fun of itself as a dying breed. Everything is done in a lovely and entertaining way, leaving the viewer wondering what we miss today in films compared to the magic of Charlie Chaplin in "Modern Times"."

"It's hard in this day and age to appreciate silent film, but Modern Times does showcase how unique a talent Charlie Chaplin was and how much can be conveyed through silent films. This is a comedy, but it's more than that, it has social awareness and isn't just about getting a laugh out of you. One of Chaplin's best and one of the best movies of all time."

"At first I thought I would like the book but it was very boring in my opinion because it was too cliché. It reminding me of a washed down version of "Pretty Woman". The book was too predictable and the story line could have been spiced up a bit to keep the audience interested. All in all, the book is not terrible but it could have been better."

"Modern Times is a classic movie starring some of the biggest names from the early movie days. It can be difficult to watch classic movies because of how far movie making has come since then, but this silent film definitely lives up to it's hype."

"No talk of classic movies is complete with mentioning one Charlie Chaplain's movies. Modern Times is a great example of his funny but insightful silent films and one of the best movies on Criterion Channel that you catch now."
