"The Amityville Horror is one of the best horror movies that i've seen. It is supposedly based on a real life story and the acting in the movie is superb."

"Found out about this after i found a book of this on my father's office got intrigued so i read it and got hooked. After that i watched this 1979 film which has fascinated me. I've watched it so many times but i never get tired of it. I even watched the r2015 remake but i think the original film is better. "

"This movie is pretty good, not amazing, but it makes for a fun couple of hours. It is your typical haunted house type of story but has a bunch of funny scenes and some very twisted ones as well. I didn't expect to like it this much but either way I recommend seeing this."

"This was an OK movie but not the best. Great performances by Margot Kidder and Rod Steiger "

"This one is scary-good. Good and scary. James Brolin and Margot Kidder were exceptional in The Amityville Horror. The movie was based on "true-to-life" experiences of the Lutz family and while there are a fair number of skeptics, the movie was still well-made. True story or not, this is a great movie in its own right."

"Such a great film that doesn't get as much love. It maybe hasn't aged well in the sense that it's not like movies today, but it's still such a historic film and anyone who claims to love horror should see this."

"This is probably the most controversial horror film ever as a lot of people tried living inside the house and there were few who actually experience anything from it.""
