""To Have and Have Not" might be considered a classic by some but it is nowhere near being widely considered as one of the best ever made. Especially now, in 2018, majority of the movie lovers will not appreciate its charm and won't be appealing to them and it is quite understandable. The solution should some of the movies which have been released at the end of the 20th century or even more recently than that to be fully understood by modern movie viewer."

"The link is to an Amazon Video page for the movie To Have and Have Not (1945). The movie To Have and Have Not stars Humphrey Bogart as a Martinique charter boat skipper who gets mixed up with beautiful Lauren Bacall and underground French resistance operatives during WWII."

"I was looking for a good romance, this definitely hit those notes. I think my only complaint is there was a lot more going on in this movie. I think while obviously a classic Bogart movie, it just doesn't count as a straight romance movie in the means of like Titanic."

"Christopher, I'm not sure if you are a Bogart fan as I am but to compare a Bogart film with "Titanic", I hope that was just a faux pas on your part and not a considered opinion. Apart from that thank you for the heads up about what sounds like a good movie."

"This film is really beautiful. It's definitely a very old movie, so some people might not be very interested in it. I, on the other hand, was deeply fascinated by how well this movie holds up in today's age."
