"Hill Street Blues is the show that combined the grittiness of ’70s crime thrillers with the loose and natural feel of an Altman production. I also think it became the deining example of how TV shows could be the same with the scope and depth of a cinema. "

"This is a somewhat open-ended topic, and therefore requires a solution that provides a variety of choices to be the "top" Emmy-winning series. The solution only links to "Hill Street Blues," and while this might be one contender, the topic is far too subjective to simply rely on this one choice as the only answer."

"IDK but I think Joaquin Phoenix had only one appearance in this TV show. The episode title if im not mistaken is The Rise and Fall of Pall the Wall. His performance was not stellar as he appeared as Daniel, a role that was not that major. I still love him tho"

"I loved the show when it originally aired. It was ahead of its time with portrayal of police officers and detectives. Upon re-watching it on dvd, it seems a little slow and campy compared to current similar police dramas, but was fun to watch."
