Penny Dreadful

Ever curious what will happen if some of the most terrifying villains in literature appear in one TV series? That's what you'll expect in Penny Dreadful. This British-American psychological thriller created by John Logan centers on some of the scariest fictional characters like Frankenstein from Mary Shelly's novel, Count Dracula, Abraham Van Helsing, John Seward, Mina Harker, and more from Bram Stoker's Dracula, Henry Jekyll from Robert Louis Stevenson's novella, and so on. And these villains are no ordinary villains since they'll be coming together and lurk around in Victorian London.

"Penny Dreadful is a tv series some people may not be familiar with but they should be. For those who are avid readers of horror stories, they may be more familiar with the characters in the episodes. I'd very much recommend fans of horror tv show/series to check it out aside from those in the horror genre they might be more familiar with or that may be more 'traditionally' horror-themed... it really brings to life characters from the written word to the screen!"

"An excellent set to commemorate and rewatch the entire british TV series, Penny Dreadful, I am quite pleased with the production values that went into this package. Aside from the overall aesthetics, the show's quality is admired for it's mysterious and haunting demeanor, with characters taken from the classics of yore, dealing with werewolves, Helsing, Jekkyl and Hyde and more. The atmosphere is magical and poetic, with a story that is deep and enigmatic."

"Penny Dreadful is frequently slow and dull but its gothic baroque style is stunning. Every frame drips with atmosphere and style. Eva Green is perfectly deranged as Vanessa Ives and she carries the show with ease. Josh Hartnett is kinda boring but he often takes his shirt off so all is forgiven. 😂"

"While Penny Dreadful is a good show, if one is looking for the medieval type stories seen in Game of Thrones, they won't find it here. Penny Dreadful is set in a much more modern era, and though it's full of good stories and wonderful characters, you won't find a counterpart to GoT in this one."

"I love this show! I've always loved the horror and the crossover concept so seeing all of my favorite horror characters crossover into one big TV show really excited me! Even though Eva's character was fictional, I still think she did a great job!"
