"Ok, my teenage son wants to be a rockstar. He bought this. He is self-teaching how to play and this is a great tool. I advised him to watch YouTube videos or take lessons, but he wanted to spend his hard-earned money on this. I don't know a lot about guitar, but I know he has been isolating guitar through this machine on his favorite songs and is able to play them. He started out by playing along, now he does the solos himself. How do I know all this you ask? Because I listen to it throughout my whole house every day--not because he shares what he's up to with his mommy."

"My daughter recently bought her first guitar. She was very nervous to start practicing since she'd never had any lessons. To help her get over her fear of this, I found songs she was actually a fan of (many by My Chemical Romance and All Time Low). The chords offered for the songs she was practicing went along with the video (which she's also very familiar with) to help her keep the beat. Needless to say, we're both big fans of this site to help her explore her musical journey. "

"Plenty of people learn by copying and I don't mean that in an insulting way. By following in the steps of others you can get a pretty good idea of how things should flow and eventually go your own route, so with that said this is fantastic for that idea in mind."

"Riffstation is a place to search for all kinds of tabs. It would be okay, but the layout and design isn't that great, and it's hard to find what you're looking for."

"Riffstation is one of the best resources to learn music I've ever come across. I played piano growing up and really wanted to learn how to play guitar. However, I struggled with the instrument and really needed help playing some favorite songs to help. Riffstation was perfect in that regard. The technology is beyond my understanding but it certainly works!"

"I needed a steady source of chords for my ukulele, and Riffstation was the perfect one-stop shop! They have the most popular songs and artists instead of old music like many websites, and they show me how the chords change in real time so that I can get the timing and flow right with the song! I love it!"

"Man, I would have done ANYTHING to have this when I was a kid trying (and mostly failing) to play guitar. No more searching all over the world for sheet music--this site actually LISTENS to the song you want to learn to play and tells you the chords for guitar, piano, or ukelele. (Ukelele? Really?)"

"You might be able to use Riffstation to learn your guitar chords but I think there are better options out there. The interface is a little clunky and it froze a couple times while I was using it. It is a good idea but poorly implemented. "

"So I was trying to learn to play the guitar to pick up chicks but I really sucked it at. Then my friend told me about Riffstation and it has changed the way that I learn to play this awesome instrument. I really love and its the greatest teacher, so much better than scuffed "how-to" videos on youtube."

"Not so much for learning as to pull out the song for them. It seems they're messing with copyright stuff."
