"I bought this book because I wanted to read more stories about underrepresented segments of society that don't often appear in books, or only as background characters. This one is a story of passion, of chasing your dreams and not letting anything stand in your way, and what happens when that drive goes against falling in love. How do you give yourself to someone else when you've focused so much of your life on a single goal? Loved the book and the story."

Nasty, bad things happen and all has gone mad. I felt so sorry for Barb. Dana is bored and has big plans to change that. For their relationship the last few months was tough. Mel is always working. Dana find it hard to cope with but the little notes makes up for it. The Crane and Rossi familes are as always, awesome and endearing. Again the story is captivating, gripping at times and full of action. The construction was well done. Solid interesting characters and the interplay of the characters is excellent. I loved it."

The premise is very psychological thriller meets conspiracy action chase, and I read the entire thing in one sitting because I was dying to unravel all the secrets that kept peeking their noses out. In terms of writing style, Lo captures perfectly that teenage uncertainty and beneath-the-surface angst, and she writes a crush like nobody's business. There IS a love triangle, and I'd have to say it's isosceles for now. ;) It was definitely a fun read and I can't wait for the sequel!"

"Despite initial misgivings, I found this book to be quite an entertaining read. I found myself reading this one end to end almost non-stop and enjoyed every minute. Given the vehemence of some of the negative reviews, I might have given this one a pass, but the plot-line intrigued me and the price for the length seemed fair. It may veer close once or twice but there is a well thought out, well written Science Fiction story here and the sex is actually an integral part of the story line . It emphasizes the sea change that has taken place in human culture since the time of Aneka Jansen’s 2011 AD kidnapping by the alien Xinti. To the jenlay, sex is merely something you do for fun and to relieve tension, which seems a better solution than popping pills all day. The predominance of female/female sex didn’t bother me, though I suppose that’s because I’m a guy. I didn’t really see it as pushing any sort of lesbian agenda. It was just people enjoying each other. I must confess that a lot of similar guy/guy sex scenes might have lost me or at least prompted me to do a little skimming. As it is, I found the sex scenes to be treated with a light (if graphic) touch, and a sense of humour. There were a few editing glitches, mostly orphan words left over from cutting and pasting, but not enough to degrade the read. I have seen more in recent ‘mainstream’ publications."
