"You can definitely find better books about pirates in the market. This book is decent enough but you should set your expectations high before reading it. The woman figure in pirates would make you interested in the books though."

"This was not even remotely an appropriate YA book. I was thinking possibly but after reading I am appalled. Not even a whiff of historical accuracy to be found in the book as well as the subject matter in general. This wasn't a romance novel it was an author's desire to pander to a purported political correct audience. She misses the mark by miles on all counts. "

"This book is 1 of 3 that exist in the triology. It took quite a while to read, but is one of my favorite books that speaks about pirates. "

"This was something that my wife had asked me to purchase for her. She really loves these romantic, sex filled, novels. One day I was passing by the coffee table, was bored, and thought I would give it a go. Nope! Couldn't get more than a couple chapters in. The characters are shallow, there is pretty much no development to their individual stories. The whole thing is just sexual encounters and cheesy one liners. It left me unentertained and dirty for having read it. I feel it's stain upon my hands to this day. You have been warned."

"What I like about this one is that it has a damsel in distress but the person rescuing her is a female herself--a nice little twist. The artwork is fantastic and really helps move the story along."

"The Pirate Next Door is very different than all the other books I've read by this author. Even though it was written well, a lot of the situations in the book weren't realistic and far fetched."
