"I love these books that treat historical figures as some deep thinker when all they are is politicians responsible for the death of tens of thousands. Look, I’m not a southern apologist. Slavery sucked. But so does the death of innocent boys in the name of industry. I know the victors write the histories but give it a rest already."

"I didn't enjoy this novel as much as I thought I would. It was certainly an entertaining read, I have to admit, but some parts of the story seemed a little far-fetched. This is supposedly a real event that really took place, but I wonder how well researched the subject is, and I'm a little miffed that some of the information in the book is mostly speculative."

"The title of this book pretty much gives away everything you need to know. Every biography of Lincoln at this point is done to put a political twist on what he did."
