DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know Adult Swim has an annual tradition of celebrating April Fools' Day? In fact, Adult Swim is notorious for its pranks, some of which have even become profound and well-known. Although, usually they are so dumb and hilarious. The prank is always done on the night of March 31 starting at midnight and usually lasts the entire night of April 1. Some years they do double pranks. It is either two pranks in one night or a prank at night and then the second will be before midnight. The first-ever prank was in 2003, where the same episode of Harvey Birdman aired on a loop from midnight until the end of the block. In 2004, mustaches were drawn on random characters on the Adult Swim shows the entire night. Two years later, a double-prank happened. Adult Swim aired reruns of programs from the 1980s. It also showed reruns of episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist and Ghost in the Shell with fart noises. In 2009, they aired The Room and repeated this prank until 2011, which thought to be an annual tradition from now on. But in 2012, it played The Room once again but as the opening credits finished it cut to a surprise Toonami night. In 2016, it promoted a series of advertisements recounting its pranks, which implied something big will happen. But the prank for 2016 was that there was no prank. This shows how serious and crazy Adult Swim when it comes to April Fools' Day.
