"Mixcraft is a great tool for any serious musician. There have been issues in the past which seem to have been corrected on the new Mixcraft 8. This is actually fun to play with and so easy to use. Unlike some products, you don't need a degree in sound engineering to do really cool things. They definitely have a customer for life!"

"My son wanted to get into making his own music, and I didn't want to invest a lot as teenagers change their minds like the wind changes directions. Everyone suggested GarageBand, but we are not an Apple household, so I went looking for reasonably priced alternatives. Well, if "reasonably priced" can be interpreted to mean "free", I found a real winner in LMMS. My son says it does everything he wanted it to: good synthesizer , plenty of samples and mix options, and more plug-ins than he frankly knows what to do with. This is a really great product for people just starting out."

"I have been making beats for probably 10 years, maybe even longer. One of my all time best alternatives to GarageBand is easily FL Studio aka Fruity Loops. It has everything you can want and need in a beat maker. You can even get more packs and add everything you need. I would HIGHLY recommend it. You won't be disappointed. "

"This is a great online tool for the recording amateur to perform relatively decent recordings at home with the tools to make it versatile. I can see using this for creating projects without spending a fortune at professional recording studios. I don't expect the same professional results, but this is okay for laying down personal tracks that are not meant for commercial release."

"Music takes feeling. Anyone can start out with GarageBand, but for some of us, namely me, it just wasn't right. I didn't like the feel of it and I didn't like the latest update, so I started looking elsewhere. When I stumbled onto Cubase, I found my feel. It goes from basic music mixing to completely professional sounds, and the features are so well-made that it's an experience, not work, to perfect your music. Try it - Cubase will have you feeling the groove like me!"

"There are a lot of different tools for audio editing and music creation. This one costs money. I would look into some of the cheaper or free solutions first. This does offer some things that other tools don't have, so I would suggest at least looking into it. "

"The best part about Audiotool is that it's browser based, so wherever you are, you can get your project. It's not as robust as a desktop based app would be, but for making music on the go, there's really no other competition."
