    #1Linux Mint

    Linux Mint
Linux Mint is one of the more popular distributions, with editions based on Ubuntu and Debian. With some of Ubuntu's recent controversial changes, particularly in the user interface, Linux Mint has become the go-to distribution for those looking for a well-supported and up-to-date, but more familiar Linux experience.

"What i like on Linux Mint is that i can run this even on old computers as long as the PC has 512mb ram. I was also able to run it with my 2011 Lenovo Thinkpad t520 laptop which didn't encounter any issues. I would definitely continue using this as my OS if only some of the features of Windows is not available here. "

"Chrome OS is available on Chromebooks but this is can also be downloaded for free for those with aging hardware. I lovge that this OS is great for web browsing, word processing and social netrowking, although it is not good for media editing and gaming. All in all, this is a good free alternative to Windows. "

"Uhhmm i do not think this is a better alternative to Windows OS because macOS High Sierra is only compatible with Macbooks and iMac. But I can attest though that this OS is da bomb with its APFS, metal 2 and virtual reality features. "
