"My niece has always had a strong interest in the Amish, the Mennonites, and other insular religious communities. When I found this book, actually part of a series, I snapped it up for her as a gift. I haven't read the book myself, but it seems to give a good and affectionate portrait of life in an Amish community and family. I think my niece will love it. "

"I think this is a great Amish fiction novel, set in the town of Gobbler's Knob where Amish and non-Amish families and cultures are forced to interact with each other. The contrast creates a clearer image of who the Amish people are as a culture, and how they and especially the main character deals with a conflict that revolves around her most important values. "
