"As a web designer, I cannot live without Java. Not the coffee (okay, I can't live without that either), but the programming language. There are a lot of complimentary programming languages out there: HTML, CSS, Python, SQL. HTML seems to be the most universal, but Java compliments it so well, and can do so much more - and it's secure! I would recommend learning Java to any up-and-coming designer. Yes, it takes some dedication to learn it, but it is worth it!"

"There's no question that C++ is the best programming language overall. But it's definitely not for programming beginners! I recommend you start off with something like Python before you graduate anywhere near close to C++."
