DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know Toy Story changed the way animated films were created? As it is the first-ever feature-length computer animated film in 1995. The technology to pull this off did not even exist before. But, Pixar Animation Studios developed brand new hardware and software to execute the process, which paved the way for a new era of animation. This made it possible to store digital characters, sets and scenes in computers reducing the amount of time to make high-quality cartoons. It also opened new possibilities for animators to add details they never would be able to do. Aside from that, Toy Story is not your typical animated movies. Sure, Disney, which also produced the movie, was on a roll with princess and fairy tale movies. They even wanted the movie to be a musical, but Pixar shut that idea down in favor of a more mature feel. This lent credence to the idea that the best animated movies didn't have to be musicals. Unlike many of the animated movies that came before Toy Story.
As you likely know, Toy Story went on to become the highest grossing film of 1995. That wasn't the end of the story of Toy Story, because four years later Toy Story 2 was released. Eleven years after that, Toy Story 3 came out and there will be another as Toy Story 4 is set to release in 2019.
