"I think I have the most cliche, recent doctor visit story. One day, I go for a check up. My doctor expressed worry about my cholesterol levels. It wasn't high, but somewhere towards the mid-range. It wasn't a huge issue...yet. I needed to find some way to get out of that range by changing my habits. I was too young to have this sort of problem. So on and so forth. That's all he recommended, change my habits...but how? I thanked him and headed home. At work the next day, I tell a work friend what happened. She pulls out her phone to show me this app. It was appropriately named, 'Cholesterol'. She told me to download it, and thank her later. She also advised that I give at least three weeks of using the app to see any changes in my health. I trusted her judgement(most of the time at least), downloading Cholesterol on our next break. At first glance, the app had so much information. Information about the causes, and effects of high cholesterol. With plenty of detail on the many foods that I've been guilty of eating over the past year or so. There was also a variety of advice on preventing cholesterol issues from starting, or managing the problems you may have already. It all seemed too good to be true. However, I read over that information, slowly finding advice to work into my daily routine. Exercising a bit more, walking to most places. I also avoided eating greasy fast-food during lunchtime. Mostly sticking with grilled or baked foods, as per the advice of the Cholesterol app. Three weeks later of following this new lifestyle change, I'm proud to say I felt better. On my next appointment, my doctor expressed he was happy to find my cholesterol levels have decreased significantly. He wondered what I did, so I pulled out my phone to show him Cholesterol. He was impressed. He told me to keep it up. Later on, I recommended this app to other friends of mine, as well as family members. Sure, Cholesterol is no doctor, but it has my doctor and family's approval. Mine as well."

"Tracking one's cholesterol is vital for many of us. I started using this app hoping it would help me more closely monitor my cholesterol levels. However I found it difficult linking all of the information that it asks for. And do I really want my medical records stored in yet one more place on the internet? With a private, for-profit company at that?!? I don't think so. "
