DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that Tom Lyle Williams, Maybelline's founder, named the brand after his older sister Mabel? Williams' sister used a mixture of coal dust and Vaseline in order to achieve a fuller and darker look. Inspired by this idea, he then adapted it using a chemistry set, thereby producing a product which was sold locally. Despite the brand being sold to Schering-Plough more than 50 years later, and its production facility being moved from Chicago to Memphis, the name stuck. The brand's factory experienced plenty of transfers during its tenure being moved again to Arkansas 8 years later. In 1996, Maybelline was acquired by L'Oréal, wherein its headquarters was then moved to New York City. In 2000, the makeup factory was moved to Brooklyn.

Although choosing the right beauty product that matches perfectly with a person's frame and features used to be difficult, modern cosmetic apps have made that task easier. Presently, a multitude of beauty bloggers, beauty products apps, and websites that rate beauty products have made searching for your brand simpler and less of a hassle. Additionally, plenty of shops and online stores now offer their patrons an opportunity to try beauty products for free, allowing them to weigh in on each item's pros and cons.
