WHAT'S THE MEANING?

The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL). It is one of the biggest sporting events each year that headlines the sports world for two weeks leading up to the game. Roman numerals are used to identify each edition of the Super Bowl, rather than the year when it is held.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that Superbowl XIV had 103,985 people in attendance? This number is the highest in the annual event's history. The game was between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Rams, which took place at the Rose Bowl. Historically, the Super Bowl has had an attendance of over 100,000 just five times. Four of those times came when the game was held at the Rose Bowl. The other 100,000+ attendance game came at Cowboys Stadium at Super Bowl XLV. The match was between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers with 103,219 fans in attendance. The size of the arena has also become a factor on how many people actually attend the live game.

During the duration of the Super Bowl, only a handful of football fans are privileged to watch the game live. The majority of sports fans are glued to their TV sets or other devices where they can stream sports. Fortunately, the best apps to stream sports on iPhone or other devices are available to stream big sporting events as such. Technology helps in ways like this since not everyone is able to be part of the live sporting action most of the time.
