What are the best apps to watch first-run movies?

A
Charlie Dean

Who doesn't love going to the movies? Whether it's a date, with the family, or even just by yourself, movies are best viewed on the literal big screen. What if you can't, for one reason, or another though? Well, apps to watch first-run movies come in real handy during times like these. The term first-run movies must have struck you if you haven't heard of it before. So, what exactly are first-run movies anyway? It actually just refers to a movie that has just been released. That's it. In the west, new movies attract the most attention during their first run (get it now?) in theaters, which usually lasts four weeks. After that, they get distributed to physical and digital releases. Recently though, some streaming services have been getting first dibs on these releases early. This means that it is now possible to stream a movie while it is still on its first-run in theaters. Great, isn't it? Where to begin though? Well, we've made a list of the best apps to watch first-run movies as asked by our friend, Charlie Dean. You can check it out below and start streaming some of the best movies in theaters today.

"Tubi TV was on my google play and it looked interesting so I tried it. It is great, its free and it has high quality movies. I do prefer netflix and hulu so I will keep them as well, but Tubi TV cant compare since its free. There are ads, but they are not excessive. I think they will grow and become more popular, and then more content will be available..great app"

"I've had this app on my phone for a while now but I haven't really had an opportunity to test it out to its fullest. I keep trying to watch videos with some of my guy friends but I always get distracted. For reasons I won't go into this just isn't the best app to use if you're trying to just chill at home for an evening."
