"The artwork in this book a really nice! ...or would be if it were 1980. The illustation are dated, which is saying a lot considering the science fiction genre. How do you make science fiction illustrations that look old? I'm honestly impressed by the artists incompetence. I'm not sure how this is considered one of the best books in its genre."

"Chesley Bonestell was not just a painter of space scenes--he was pretty much THE artist of space scenes. His vision influenced science fiction movie makers throughout the 1950s and 1960s. He's even credited with stimulating the American fascination with space, and thus, helping the space program happen. These are great reproductions of Bonestell's greatest works. Some would have benefited from the reproductions being larger, but all in all, this is a great book."

"Really fascinating artwork, especially if you enjoy science fiction. Unfortunately, it's long out of print, with no updates if it will ever be re-published. If you must have it, you can find used copies starting around $125, which is a bit (ok, a LOT) out of my price range. "
