"I am an Australophile and am eager to collect and read literature from the land down under. A friend recommended The Mystery of a Hansom Cab and it is a pretty solid crime fiction novel that takes place in Melbourne. Even though it was written in 1886, I found that this book holds up well and provides a deeper, more complex read than many might expect."

"This is not a book that you will be captivated by. Its not terrible but nothing that will have you into it like any good crime novels. At no point in this book will you find yourself not wanting to put it down. The author does not do a good job of thrilling you throughout the story at all. "

"I only picked up Thorny Devil since I wanted to see if T.W. Lawless had improved as a writer since his first book. I am happy to say that he has. Peter Clancy has really grown into an interesting character with a great deal of depth. Thorny Devils is fast paced and kept me guessing until the very end. I look forward to the next book."
