"Sophie's Squash is a children's book by Pat Miller and available from Amazon for $13.59. This award winning book centers on a girl named Sophie who went to the farmers market and picked out a squash. Instead of letting her mother fix it for dinner she names it Bernice and keeps it as a pet. It is a great story for kids and fits the topic very nicely."

"I loved this book as a child and remember it fondly as the book we read in 1st grade to celebrate the beginning of autumn. Probably is the reason Fall is my favorite season! So glad I can now share it with my children! I wish the book was a bit bigger so I could read it easily with my son by my side (instead of my lap, he's getting really big!), and the colors were a bit brighter, but it was worth the price for some good nostalgia!
