"Seems like an excellent book to look at the universe for a ballet dancer. I would definitely be interested in this book looking to see how relationships and crazy rehearsals = could effect a dancers life."

"I have been studying cranes all my life. I have sat still for hours on end to get that perfect shot of a crane. I have never seen a crane dance so I got this book thinking I would see something new but nope, it's about ballet and it's referring to the animal crane not the majestic machine that lifts objects. Sad."

"This book is amazing because it is non-fiction and really took me into the dark underbelly of ballet. Gelsey doesn't pull any punches with her addictions to drugs and her brilliance as a dancer. Her story really made me appreciate the hard work and horrors even the most talented artists have to endure."

"How well this book fits your needs depends on what you're looking for. This book is about drama, competition, backstabbing, and the darker side of ballet. I just wanted a book that celebrated ballet--its artistry, beauty, and the dancers' dedication to it. Not so much the drama."

"Such a sweet book about three sisters working together to overcome their problems. I had never heard of this book until I went shopping with my ballet-happy niece, and she migrated right over to it in the store. I picked it up - it seemed simple, but when I read the description, I almost thought immediately of a family-centric Madeline. My niece insisted we buy it, that's what she wanted me to read to her at bedtime, and so I did. The story itself is very sweet and endearing, about trying to overcome your problems... and while ballet does have its role in the book, my niece was disappointed it didn't seem to have more of a role."

It deals with the competition that comes with going to school with the best of the best. It's honest and shows what teenagers who want to be professional dancers have to go through. "
