Old reliable application! Although this app was as old as my iPhone 4, I would still go to this application for my daily dose of music.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that according to a study conducted at McMaster University, the bass guitarist is the most important band member? This is because while the vocals and the guitar carry the melodic information, it is the bass that holds down the rhythm of the song. Listeners can detect it better when low-pitched tones are off-beat. This is further proven by the popularity of songs with boosted bass sounds, especially in electronic dance music. In EDM, the bass is an integral part of the song, so much so as to warrant the phrase “bass drop” for the moment in the song where the bass beat kicks in after building momentum. This is considered to be the climactic point in the song, where the crowd is often expected to jump up and down to the rhythm. As a concept, the bass drop has been around since the 90s, but it entered mainstream consciousness in the 21st century by by DJ Rocco’s 2002 song, “Drop the Bass.” This intense bass sound, coupled with the loudness of the music, causes a person to experience the physiological sensations of sound. A “chest punch,” or “chest slam,” is when the chest vibrates because of high-level low frequency sounds with a frequency of around 100 Hertz.
