"This is not the beginning of the whole Birds of Prey comic series but it is a good starting point for newcomers to this series. The art is beautiful and the writing is funny and witty that female readers will likely enjoy reading. One of the best Birds of Prey comics, for sure."

"You will get to see more interactions between the three birds here with the introduction of Huntress that was set up during the last volume. Also, This is where I got to see Black Canary and Lady Shiva team up to solve a murder mystery which was oh so cool. "

"Another great read from the series. The part I loved most was seeing Lady Shiva standing in for Black Canary while she goes off on a rigorous training journey. It was interesting to see how the Oracle and the rest of the birds will get along the deadly assassin and keep her tendencies in check."

DID YOU KNOW?

The recent Birds of Prey movie trailer is not the first incarnation of the comic book series in media? The first form of media that's based on the comic is a TV show. A Birds of Prey TV series released in 2002 on The WB TV network. It ran from October 2002 to February 2003 with a total of 13 episodes. The show did not perform as well as the producers had hoped. This is due to the convoluted storyline and underwhelming performances from the actors.

The Suicide Squad movie back in 2016 was a theatrical bust. Harley Quinn's character played actress Margot Robbie was well received. In fact, she was the one that pitched the idea for the Birds of Prey movie to executives. She did not want a standalone movie for her character alone. Instead, she wanted it to be a girl-gang type of comic book movie. The 20-second teaser trailer for Gail Simone's Birds of Prey was well received. While short, it gave us a brief look at the movie will look like and complete cast. It even gave a mysterious shot of an unknown character that might be Oracle. Now is a good time to read up on the Birds of Prey comic before the movie comes out. There are plenty of options to read Birds of Prey online.

"This volume is not your typical overarching storyline but rather a collection of short ones. It is almost poetic that one the story tells the story of Black Canary's departure from the team that also happens to coincide with Gail Simone nearing the end of her run with the series. This is worth reading for that reason alone"

"The birds have always been a group that operated out of Gotham City. WIth their HQ destroyed it was great to see how the team transitioned from Gotham to Metropolis and taking on its over-reaching meta vigilantes. It was a great story overall and beautiful art as always."

"With Lady Blackhawk joining the fold, we get to see the group slowly growing into its own and yet still see what motivates each one and how they operate. The religious cult that they are taking on in this story is interesting with a surprising villain reveal."

"This was the last story that Gail Simone wrote before her departure from the series and what a sendoff it was. This story sets up a crossover with the birds facing off with the secret six (a series that Gail also worked on). It's a great story seeing the group being led by someone other than Oracle, in this case, by Spy Smasher who was introduced in the previous volume of the series."

"While this is not a bird of prey comic per se, it is a story that involves its main heroines, Oracle and Huntress and sees the latter stirring up trouble for the two friends in questioning the rekindling of their feelings for each other."
