Did you know that the first image to be photoshopped was a photo of a topless woman from 1987? The first ever photoshop image was called “Jennifer in Paradise”. Out of millions of images edited with this software, the creators used this photo in demos for PhotoShop when they were starting out. It's a picture of a topless woman, with her back to us, sitting on a secluded Bora Bora Beach looking towards To'opua Island. The photo was taken by John Knoll, one of the creators of PhotoShop itself. The woman is John Knoll’s then girlfriend and now wife Jennifer Knoll. Now, this computer software plays an essential role in almost all means of advertising and media companies. American Brothers John and Thomas Knoll are the great minds behind the well-known software. Thomas Knoll was a Ph.D. student at the University of Michigan where he began this program called Display. It's when his brother John saw its potential and supported his brother in turning it to an image-editing program. They came up with the name ImagePro for their software. But there's already an existing brand with the same name at the time so they changed it to PhotoShop instead. A total of 200 copies were released for the first batch of the software.
After launching Photoshop in 1988, it became the standard in graphics editing. On the same year, Adobe Systems Incorporated bought the distribution rights of the software. The term “PhotoShop” even became a verb that means to change an image with a software in a way that distorts reality. With the boom of social media and technology, image-editing seems to be part of the norm. Face morphing and face blender apps also became popular, whether done for business or fun. What's more is that you can now edit pictures using web-based tools or apps on your phone. There are lots of photo morphing apps available for downloads for iOs or Android phones. Now you can swap faces with anyone.
