"I'd call this less a blacksmith book than an art book, but considering it's a book of art made by a blacksmith, i imagine most people with an interest in blacksmithing will still appreciate it. Freedman's work is beautiful and there is a lot of information about his process and work which will be informative to someone looking to read about blacksmithing."

"I'm not sure if this was a mistake or a gag gift from someone in my family. Jokes on them; I found this to be really interesting and a neat look at how blacksmithing really works. The accompanying book was a bonus treat, which is a great supplement to the video."

"This is a really good book with interesting poems. If you're ever tired of more contemporary literature and poems in particular, it's a great change of pace. My son read it as well and his teacher was impressed."

"Practical Blacksmithing and Metalworking is an interesting book about the fine arts and craftsmanship that is smithing. It aims to make it easier to understand and start doing, and I have to say it does this rather well. Even a dummy like me could follow it and...I honestly want to try more. I bought some supplies to test on while following the guides in this book and they turned out rather well for a novice. I highly recommend!"

"This book is a must have for every beginning or intermediate blacksmith. It details the process of blacksmithing from the start till the end, beginning with the building of your own forge to making tools and even some elaborate door knockers. This is all written in a very easy to understand and easy to read style. The only drawback is the way the book looks. It doesn't looks very well made"
