"The Duchess of Windsor is a biography about - who else? - Edward VIII, and Wallis Simpson. This is a fascinating biography of a fascinating woman. I read this as a supplemental text during an English history course, and I'm glad I did - many parts of this read more like a drama novel than nonfiction. You won't be disappointed!"

"No royal wedding age would be complete without a story featuring the deprived Edward and his duchess. What if they had a child? Emerald is the author's result of this imagined coupling with the duchess and the Nazi sympathizer. What would her life be like? Throw in an island, a storm and a sadistic reporter and see if you can get something out of this story about a royal child who has a fantastic life."

"As a young woman I was intrigued and a bit gooey- eyed over the Wallis Simpson story. So, I wanted very much to read this book when a friend told me about it. Well....I had always assumed that Wallis may have been a bit conniving and her prince a bit soft-headed as well as soft- hearted. This book painted the picture of a bright woman who became the object of obsession. It was actually a very compelling read for the personalities and the excellent picture of a time period, more so than for any lovey dovey aspects. If you enjoy well-written biographies you will really enjoy this. "
