"Somebody to Love is one of the songs he wrote that I truly love, well next to Bohemian Rhapsody, and Killer Queen. I am surprised of how this Freddie Mercury biography was able to capture and document the interviews of him. Indeed he is an inspirational artist of all time."

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that Freddie Mercury's bandmates didn't care about his sexuality? The members of Queen admittedly never talked much about Freddie Mercury's sexuality. They also rarely discussed the disease that eventually killed him. Many people and music fans who idolize Mercury often try to label his sexual identity. However, this is not the case with his bandmates. Though they were close and tight as a band, drummer Roger Taylor said that they didn't really know a lot of things about Freddie. He stated this not long after Mercury's death because of AIDS in 1991. Also, Mercury himself was not aware of how to label himself. This was according to Queen guitarist Brian May, despite people labeling Freddie as a 'bisexual' at the height if Queen's career. Even the name 'Queen' serves as an intriguing label for some people. Fans ponder on such name as whether or not it is a reference to Mercury and his sexuality.

Despite any labels, Mercury had a long-term relationship with Mary Austin. Austin was Freddie's long-term partner whom he met through guitarist Brian May. He lived with Austin for several years in London. By the mid-1970s, he had begun an affair with a male American record executive. In December 1976, Mercury told Austin of his sexuality, which ended their romantic relationship. With such events, it is accepted that Freddie Mercury's sexuality is really worth talking about. Whether he is labeled or identified as gay or bisexual, his success and influence in the world of music is just undeniable. His life is now revisited in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. Queen fans can also learn more about him through Freddie Mercury biographies and books available.

"I heard a lot of negative things about Mercury and Me over the years. Look at the book cover. It's screaming out loud it is a gay novel. Some people would dislike it because of its gay romance in it. Personally, I like this book a lot although i never had read any of Freddie Mercury's biography. I don't see Freddie as musician and entertainer. He is just a normal human being like us with desire and preferences."

"There are times, here and there that the book manages to slow down to a point where I can finally think 'Alright, break time'. However, that little nitpick aside? It's a truly honest book out of all Mercury books out there. It's accurate down to a T and if you're a fan of his, you'll absolutely love it."

"Have read many Mercury books already and i think this is the best so far. The previous books i've read have portrayed Mercury similarly but in this one i felt that he was different maybe it's because the authot of this was his close friend/personal assistant"
