"This is a fine book about the crimes Britian and the US have inflicted upon Iraq. It's important that we understand the history as we try to understand what it has brought to today."

"As a general I expected Colin Powell to command more respect. I wanted to be impressed by the man said to embody American probity and good sense. Sadly he comes off in this story as just another inside-the-beltway politico. He needs a great deal of praise and quick to pass blame. Plenty of horn tooting and arrogance. Not a book to read if you admire him and don't want to be disappointed in him."

"I have always been a fan of war novels and non-fiction stories detailing war situations. One of the best books about the Gulf War that I have read is probably Warthog: Flying the A-10 in the Gulf War. I felt really engaged as I was reading this book."

"Being not too crazy about war and the beauty of it I usually avoid those types of books, written by seasoned military types who seem to think that nothing is more natural and inevitable than war. That being said, war does happen, and a book like this one shows what could and does go wrong, on the terrain, far away from the abstract theorizing and the waving of flags. It makes for a depressing read, in my opinion, but it's also a sobering description of how complex things are on the terrain during a war, and how things quickly escalate or morph into something that makes them impossible to control. Interesting, even though the style is pedestrian, and the patriotism sometimes too heavily piled on. Still, makes one think."

"This book is a little bit different than the other books about Gulf War since it is written by a pilot who has been at the Gulf War. The first hand experience will bring more excitement and curiosity while reading the book. This is not a historical book that you can learn a lot about the Gulf War but you will definitely enjoy it anyway. "
