"Golden Boy is a brilliant novel about a boy coming to terms with the fact that he is a hermaphrodite. If you want to read a book about the hermaphroditic experience, or possibly expose your child to such a story, this novel is a good choice. "

"This book goes beyond just hermaphrodites and plunges into other areas of less than typical genitalia issues that make a straight up male/female determination difficult to impossible. The expansion actually helps bring and even greater understanding to the struggles hermaphrodites face. It's a definate must read for this topic."

"This is a great tale about gender and it's role in society when a child is born with ambiguous genitalia. I have read this book a few times because it speaks of uniqueness and bravery. It is a must-read for anyone with an open mind and a curious soul. "

"An interesting book to get into the understanding what it means to be intersex. Not a ridiculous hard read, but rather something of insight and a neat way to get a better understanding of a group that is less than 1% of the population."

"Critical Intersex by Morgan Holmes is a series of essays about how intersex is viewed by society. I thought it was a little too academically heavy for my tastes as there was just a lot of information to absorb. The topic is a very complex one as it upends the simple notion that there are two "opposite" genders. I felt this book held so much potential but it didn't quite deliver."

"Annabel is a very interesting read and provides a different perspective than what I'm used to. I'm not very familiar with hermaphrodites, so it took me a bit to get used to the book. Overall, I thought the story was good and well written. "

"I have some sort of issue where I must read the oddest things I can find. You wouldn't believe the kinda stuff I've had over the years.... This is far far more tame than my normal material but still weird nonetheless. The surprising thing about this was the skill of the writer for sure. I don't want to spoil anything but it's masterfully done. It's absolutely what I would call "the best"."
