"I was homeschooled when I was a kid and I always see this book in our living room back then. My mom used to read this book as a guide to get me homeschooled properly. Planning to do the same to my kid since he's about to start learning to read and write. This book is a great introduction for parents who want their kids to have highly exceptional reading skills!!"

"they say that people never stop learning and i couldn't agree more about that saying. this book is not just something you read and put down and forget right after. it's something you have to absorb because everything written on it makes sense. i used to think that education being governed today is pretty messed up but after reading this book, i learned it isn't true. you're just gonna have to apply the basic principles to become a person that could become a leader someday. 5 stars for this book!!"

"I strongly believe that you must first learn to know how a child learns before you could be able to teach them effectively. My husband bought this book to me and upon finishing this, I learned the nature of learning, and how children learn things naturally. This is also perfect for those parents who plan to homeschool their kid as well. "

"This work on homeschooling is important, but not perfect. Some parts of it felt a little dated - consider how people need to compare for the modern economy nowadays versus what they had to do to make a living almost forty years ago. The book is also more about the conceptual ideas behind homeschooling than about some of the practical concerns involved in it. It might be valuable for those who are considering homeschooling their kids, but I would have to kind of recommend the original book, as this is a revised edition with sort of unnecessary commentary, and I would have to add that this should probably not be the only book you get on the topic."

Also use as a companion to public schooling where in the parents take an active role in education is very achievable with the information listed in this book."

"This is definitely a good read about why to homeschool, even if you already are homeschooling. It dives into the problem of factory produced students and how sectioning them off and marching them through a system does no good. "
