"What makes this book is the good research into the life, sights, sounds and smells of Victorian life. A lot of research has also been done on early detective work, and I asked myself how they ever solved a crime, especially when one considers how uncooperative and downright hostile Londoners were following the unsolved Ripper murders. This research comes through in the writing which makes for a suitably atmospheric novel. Alex Grecian has given us a solid bit of insight into the early days of Scotland Yard and the development of police work as we know it today"

"If you are a Jack the Ripper buff, as I am, then you will have a fun time reading this story. Not only does it center around the nefarious activities of dastardly Jack, but it also has some really neat paranormal elements. One thing to note is that the setting in modern-day London, not the London of the Victorian era."

"This book feels like it was written about a time period later than Jack the Ripper. I enjoyed the retelling of events, though there is a lot that is speculative since a lot of historical facts are unknown. The noir crime drama angle is somewhat hit and miss. Overall a decent read, but there are better ones out there."

"While this book is soemwhat about Jack the Ripper it is a historic base dfiction novel that loosely involves Jack the ripper. If you really have an interest in learning about this subject look elsewhere. It is not even a good fiction book in my opinion!"

"19th century settings in books are not my thing. Either go back to ancient or medieval times, or make the setting modern or future. Horse drawn carriages, huge dresses, and all the pomp is not very appealing."

"Reviews call this “Absolutely riveting" and “[A] dark, bloody triumph", which is exactly what a serial killer novel should be described as. Can't wait to buy it for my husband."
