"Man in the Music is a terrific biography of the King of Pop and his music. It goes into a lot of detail and study of each of his songs, and includes many interviews, collaborations, and self proclamations from Michael himself. It's truly a comprehensive assessment and I highly recommend it if you're interested in the man behind the scandals. If you can look past the scandals and look into the man himself you'll find many interesting points from his rise to fame including his family beginnings."

"The Michael Jackson Tapes was recommended to my by a friend. She had read this book and told me there was a lot of previously unreleased information in it. After reading this book I feel like I have a better understanding of what led Michael Jackson to be perceived as "strange" or "wacko". I never knew what kind of deep hidden pains Michael was hiding but now that I have read this book I completely understand why he acted the way he did. There are funny stories in this book but there are quite a few stories that are sad and made my heart ache for him. This is a must read for anyone who loves reading biographies of celebrities and those diehard fans of Michaels. This book will not disappoint. "

"As a tail end of the boom baby-boomer, I experienced childhood, adolescence, young adulthood and adulthood with the background noise of the Michael Jackson saga playing in the background. Sherry O'Keefe takes on this biographical whirlwind and delivers a fair, reasonably complete and sympathetic portrayal of an artist who experienced a whole ocean's worth of waves of triumph and tribulation. O'Keefe doesn't back away from discussing the controversies which at times threatened to swallow the artist's creativity in total. But she is also aware that at his core Michael Jackson was a pop artist, and she fortunately does not let us forget how compelling the work Michael Jackson produced really was. This book isn't, in the end, a "Thriller," but it does provide a very good view of "The Man in the Mirror.""

"The King of Pop! Kids today will never understand what it was like to be alive when Michael Jackson was in his prime, and The Official Photobook really takes me back to those times. While I adore the book and thankfully have had mine in my collection for years, I can't find a copy online for less than several hundred dollars. While I can't recommend it at that price, if you can find it for a reasonable price it's well worth picking up for anyone who grew up in the 80s."
