"I found this book to be fascinating. I had often seen images of Santa Muerte, but never understood her history or that she had so many followers. I found it interesting that her worshippers range from the most ordinary citizens to drug dealers. She represents many facets, including healer, angel of death, and protector. Her popularity has been increasing and her story is fascinating."

"The book comes across as a bit juvenile even for a YA fiction book. As the reader I was expected to be drawn into something supposedly as fascinating as this but in reality I was just bored. The author tried to revive a subject that they felt something about but it just sort of waffled and fell flat. It was like reading the color beige. "

"While there may only be a limited number of works on the topic, Tony Kall certainly did not make it among the top works with his attempt at covering the topic. But I suppose what was I really expecting when the author has spent most of his life in Tennessee and is writing on the topic of Hispanic culture. The writing felt more like a Wikipedia entry than a professionally researched, written and edited piece of work. "
