"My uncle came down with scoliosis late in life and I bought this book to understand the treatments for him. You should know, this has a lot of information about surgery (he did not opt for that). But it was really helpful for him to think through what he needed and whether or not surgery would be helpful. I've kept it and use it now, every so often, in my clinical practice. Scoliosis comes up more than you think (I work in an outpatient mental health clinic). It's a very good resource and offers comprehensive information. "

"Judy Blume has written many novels exploring the lives of adolescent and young women, and these books stand out as deeply addressing many of the issues commonly faced by girls. In Deenie, she looks at scoliosis in a realistic and affecting light. No kids novel, this book captures the daily life and struggles of Deenie in dealing with the difficulties of growing up and living as an adult with scoliosis."

"Although one might instinctively assume books about scoliosis to fall into the non fiction category, L.E. Carmichael's narrative of a young girl growing up during the period after World War II is a fascinating tale but has nothing to do with scoliosis. Totally off topic even if well written, and I cannot rate it at all for this topic, for this reason."

"If you're looking for a medical book about the causes and remedies for scoliosis, this is not the book you're looking for. However, if you're looking for a book that explores how yoga can help you cope with the pain and discomfort of scoliosis, Yoga and Scoliosis is a great place to start. It presents many exercises and tips for using the ancient practice for bettering posture, relieving pain, and even correcting the curvature of the spine. "
