""When are you going to tell Mrs. M-- that you'll take the job?" my 13-year-old asked me at breakfast one day. I hadn't even told her that I was job-hunting, because I wasn't sure I'd find anything and didn't want to get anyone's hopes up. (And I wasn't sure I wanted to take this job, either.) But she'd been reading "Harry Potter and the Art of Spying" and realized something was up when I was dressing for interviews and spending time polishing my resume. I'm going to have to watch myself around her from now on. Knowledge is power, and there's a certain magic in being able to gather, analyze and use information. "Harry Potter and the Art of Spying" seems to give a good introduction to that spell."

"All of the Harry Potter books are well worth reading. This one is probably so compelling because Harry is getting older and more thoughtful and the author is good at showing this age of bridging the gap between child and young adult. One of the wonderful things besides the magical universe of these books, is that Harry is so well-realized, so thoughtful and insightful and real. That is why there are as many adult fans of these books as there are child ones."

"Harry Potter and History is a book to contrast real life British school system and Hogwarts. It makes comparison with the science fiction book, and points out differences that are important to the real book. Nancy Reagin makes a case where real life approaches fiction and how Hogwarts could be a real possibility. Makes the Harry Potter universe richer in detail."

"This is a fantastic companion to the Harry Potter books and movies that not only gives you more information about that universe but that also gives you real-life examples of where Rowling got a lot of her inspiration. The only downside is that this book does not cover all of the Harry Potter books which was a bit disappointing for me."
